S2V NEARFIELD MONITOR
The ADAM Audio S2V is the S-Series’ most compact model. Despite its smaller size, this two-way nearfield monitor shares all the important performance stats and features of its larger S-Series brothers, making it ideal for situations with the highest of demands and the most limited of spaces.
The newly developed 7″ woofer uses ADAM Audio’s innovative ELE™ and SMA™ technologies and delivers a distortion-free and dynamic low-end, all the way down to 35 Hz. Above 3 kHz the S-ART tweeter — handmade in Berlin — together with the HPS waveguide, ensures precise stereo imaging with first-class localization and a generously proportioned sweet spot.
With a cabinet that is both equally stable and compact, the S2V NEARFIELD MONITOR houses a 300 watt PWM power amplifier that drives the woofer, while a 50 watt Class A/B unit handles the S-ART tweeter, with a combined output that produces maximum SPLs of up to 120dB. The S Series’ custom-designed DSP optimizes the loudspeaker crossovers to create linear responses for the entire range. Two parametric shelving filters (for bass and treble), and six fully parametric EQs can be individually adapted to the given room conditions, or to your own listening tastes. In addition, the DSP also handles the limiter-based high-frequency driver protection, the signal processing from the AES3 digital inputs, and various future expansion options. The S Control Remote software can be used to adjust parameters and control functions, as can the installation of software updates via USB port.
Within the international trade press, the S2V has won many awards thanks to its absolute reliability with highly accurate frequency response, and superb sound characteristics.
